Eastern Cape Cultural Experience

Eastern Cape Cultural Experiences is a unique and authentic experience of living with the Xhosa people in different villages of the Eastern Cape, cooking with these and staying with them in their living villages. No show, but real lives. 

Itinerary:

Day 1: Pick up from East London airport and drive to the village of Elundini. Checked in at the village lodge.

Day 2: After breakfast you will be fetched by the village guide who will take you to her house for bread making and collecting wood to make fire. While waiting for their doug to rise, a village guide will fetch them and take them for basic Xhosa lessons. After lunch they will be taken for a village walk. Later drive to Cata Village via Hogsback. At Cata Village guests will be staying with different families where they will cook with them.

Day 3: After breakfast village guide will pick up guests for a village walk and end up at the village museum where they will be thought about the history of the village and how forced removals affected the village. Vehicle will pick guests from the village museum and drive to the Wild Coast. On the road we will stop at Icamagu Institute where guests will be thought about African Religion, Xhosa Culture and Traditions, Traditional Wedding and also learn about Traditional medicine. Later drive and checked inn at Bulungula lodge on the Wild Coast.

Day 4: This day will be spent at Bulungula. Guests will be taken by the village guide for an activity called Women Power. This activity is based on the life of a village women. Guests will be working in the village fetching water, wood and cook their own meal which will be their lunch. After lunch they will have free time and they can do their own activities.

Day 5: Early wake up for sunrise pancakes watching the sun rising from the sea. Back to check out and drive to Hole In The Wall and later drop off at Mthatha Airport or East London airport for an afternoon flight.

From R6,880.50 per person.
Cost includes transport with driver guide, accommodation and activities.
